Trying to keep up!
This is very interesting........I have been an at home mom for the past 17+ years and have had the privilege of being able to concentrate on my family...4 kids and husband....and this year during the Christmas season I am splitting my time between family and school. I am used to planning fun Christmas traditions like ice skating, looking at Christmas lights, going to a fun Christmas play like the Grinch, and cooking up some yummy baked goods, but this Christmas is different. I am pretty overwhelmed. I want to continue my family traditions and continue to do well in school. I have been feeling a bit sorry for myself and then with the help of myu classmates, I feel blessed. I have been reading other blogs and some people are also working full time in addition to family and school. I cannot imagine trying to work (outside the home) in addition to the high demands of the Christmas season. As I am typing Christmas over and over again......it is the Christ in Christmas that should be my motivation and so it is.......I am blessed!

Free Writing About Blogging!
Blogging is like Facebook in a sense and for some reason I am not too sure about either of these sites. I just do not get why we have to tell everyone our thoughts and exactly what we are doing every second, minute, and hour of our day. My sister is on Facebook and she posts pictures of me and my family and I find it frustrating. One day I was walking in a mall minding my own business and a girl from a distance noticed me. She pointed right at me and said "I SAW YOU ON FACEBOOK TODAY!" I have never laid eyes on this person in my life, but she saw pictures on my sister's facebook. I actually found it irritating. I told my sister I would never go on FACEbook! Now that "Blogging" has been a requirement for this class, I am forced to participate. At first, I didn't like it, but I have been getting used to it. I have realized that through your "blogs" I have been inspired, encouraged, and reminded of life's important things.........time! I am making time to reflect on life and the wonders around me and I am enjoying reading all my classmates blogs! This was an example of "Free Writing" too!

A Stormy Day
I am sitting here on a beautiful rainy day in San Diego, California, writing this blog. I love sitting here looking out my window at the rain, sipping my hot coffee, and cuddling with my puppy while the busy world goes on........I am thinking about all my kids at school and wishing they were little again so we could cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie or read a book.....before their cozy naps. But they are all at school, and I hope they are staying dry and safe! My husband is at work, but driving all around today I am sure and I pray for his safety! After I finish this blog, I am going to make a big pot of spaghetti, finish my required assignments for school and wait for my family to come home! Hope you find your special thing to do today!

Reflections
Today was one of those days which I do not have very often. We have a busy family always on the go! We live in San Diego where the weather is nice and sunny, but today was one of my favorite days.......chilly, windy, and cozy! My husband and 2 teen sons went to the Charger game, my older daughter was at work, and my younger daughter and I spent the day watching football, decorating our house for Christmas, and preparing a warm toasty dinner for the family. Somewhere in my day, I also found time to study, post to the discussion boards, check responses, and finish a course assignment. I had time to reflect on the blessings in my life and breathe! I also was able to reflect on my thesis statement for my writing comp class and will be revising that again soon, too! I hope you all had a nice relaxing day too!

Let us be thankful!
I just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving! During this season, I am hopeful that we will all remember our military family and keep them in our prayers! As I sit in my comfortable home writing this blog, I cannot seem to grasp how our service men and women feel. I personally do not know anyone in Iraq but I think and pray for them daily and count them among my blessings! Hope you all are surrounded by family this Thanksgiving!
